The Central Oregon Sportsmen’s Show and Boat/RV Show® returns March 5-8, 2015 with more adventure gear and fun for outdoor sports enthusiasts of all ages! Venture out to the Bank of the Cascades Center and Deschutes County Fair & Expo to discover cutting-edge sporting and outdoor equipment, learn exciting and innovative techniques and to meet the industry’s most renowned experts – all in one place. Now in its 16th year, this lively Central Oregon tradition is the region’s best opportunity to prepare for outdoor adventure, offering everything from the latest watercraft and fishing boats, to tent trailers and motor homes. Some of this year’s special features include:

Fred Meyer Camp Cooking Demonstrations: With over 100 years of outdoor cooking experience combined, these expert chefs will help take your camp cooking to the next level. Herb Good, Tiffany Haugen, newcomer Roger Neufeldt, aka the Smokehouse Sausage Guy and members of Dutch Oven Cuisine at the Crooked River Ranch will present throughout the four-day show, demonstrating their craft and sharing delicious samples. Learn everything from the basics to gourmet techniques at the ever-popular Fred Meyer Camp Cooking Demonstrations, sponsored by Franz, Camp Chef and Smokehouse Products.

X-Treme AirDogs: The exciting, high-flying X-Treme AirDogs competition is back by popular demand, featuring man’s best friends showing off their amazing jumping skills as they launch into a massive swimming pool at high speeds. Spectators will enjoy cheering on teams of all levels, from novice to experienced. Plus, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday during the show, attendees can sign up to try this exhilarating sport with their own canine partner. Don’t miss this crowd-pleasing feature!

Head & Horns Competition: The 2015 Central Oregon Sportsmen’s Show invites the public to bring in head and horns or antlers to vie for records, bragging rights and valuable prizes at the annual Head & Horns competition. Bring your trophy, past or present, for official measurement! Entrants pay a $25 deposit that’s refunded to those whose entries don’t make the official record book. Scoring is conducted by representatives from Boone and Crocket, and Pope and Young.

Northwest Tour of Big Game Animals: Don’t miss this year’s display featuring the largest whitetail deer ever recorded in the Northwest. This enormous, 178 6/8 inch whitetail deer was the first harvest for 14-year-old bow hunter Kailey Smith of Summerville, Ore. The incredible trophy earned Kailey the grand prize in last year’s Head & Horns competition.

Free Kids’ Trout Fishing Pond: The Kids’ Trout Fishing Pond is one of the show’s most popular and long-standing attractions, and it’s completely FREE, courtesy of Baxter Auto Parts. Unplug for the day and join us at the Central Oregon Sportsmen’s Show, where kids ages 12 and under can try their hand at catching a live trout – to keep or release. Over the years, thousands of happy children have caught their first fish at the shows, so bring your camera and don’t miss out on a truly memorable experience.

Fresh Water Demo Tank: The 30-foot-long, 3,000-gallon Fresh Water Demo Tank, sponsored by Bi-Mart, will feature seasoned experts sharing their knowledge of the Northwest’s best freshwater fishing opportunities and the latest techniques.
