Ben Cate

North Willamette District Wildlife Biologist

Want to know where the best hunting opportunity in Oregon is? We have THE expert who can answer that question best. Ben Cate has been a wildlife biologist in Oregon for the past decade, starting his wildlife career with ODFW in rural eastern Oregon before taking up wildlife management in the most populated district in the state, the North Willamette Watershed, which encompasses the Portland Metro area. Ben’s combination of experiences as a lifelong hunter and a biologist for the state have prepared him with an extensive knowledge of hunting in Oregon. He will share information on where the best opportunities exist for big game (black-tailed deer, Roosevelt elk, black bear, and cougar) on the westside of the state.
