A genuine “double threat” Jody’s as skilled a hunting guide as he is a fishing guide.  Whether it’s turkey, elk, deer, sturgeon, chinook salmon, smallmouth bass, bear, steelhead, shad, striper or surf perch, Jody’s the first guide most call if they’re anywhere near Elkton and the Umpqua River.

We’re fortunate to have Jody join us for one of the fisheries he’s spent the last several years perfecting. Surf perch fishing has exploded in popularity this past decade.  With 363 miles of publicly accessible coastline in Oregon it’s no wonder these hard fighting and great eating fish are enjoying a revival of sorts.  Jody’s been sharing this fishery through his guide service with anglers of all skill levels.  He’ll discuss some of the unique riggings he’s developed along with how-to best catch these fish using a variety of baits and plastics he relies on.
