Landlocked sockeye salmon aka “kokanee” have become a popular target of NW anglers. They’re a plentiful, great eating fish that can be caught most of the year. Two close-by lakes, Yale and Merwin, deliver excellent kokanee fishing with some honest-to-goodness whoppers showing every year. And like most fisheries, the more you know the better your results. We’re fortunate to have landed longtime S.W. Washington guides, Brent Soule and Don Peck, to rundown the how, what and where of kokanee fishing in these lakes. The tactics change with the seasons and Brent and Don will take you from flatlining to deepwater trolling and what you need to know to be successful. Bring your questions and be prepared for lots of information. This session was standing-room only last year so get there early for a seat. Scheduled for 1PM Wednesday.
