Fast Draw Competition

Channel the Spirit of the Old West with Cowboy Fast-Draw at the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show!

Channel the spirit of the legendary American Old West gunslingers and try your hand at Cowboy Fast-Draw at the 2012 Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show, sponsored by Wilco Farm Stores! For the first time ever at the largest sportsmen’s show west of the Mississippi, attendees 12 and older can test their shooting skills for quickness and accuracy at the custom-built Cowboy Fast-Draw firing range at Portland Expo. This exciting new feature is led by Oregon Fast Draw and the founder of the first fast draw club in Oregon.

For just $5, show attendees can grab a holster and a ten gallon hat, load 10 rounds of wax bullets into a classic Colt 45 revolver and give their best Wild Bill impression as they shoot against fellow attendees for bragging rights, daily prizes and an exciting grand prizes that include a Traeger Grill, $500 and $250 Shopping Sprees. Show organizers are preparing for a gold rush of Fast-Draw fun with over 10,000 wax bullets and a custom-built shooting range at the Portland Expo Center.

Described as the world’s fastest sport, Cowboy Fast-Draw is inspired by Old Western movie duels and the legendary gunslingers of American history. In professional Fast-Draw competitions, “fast” is measured in fractions of a second. In fact, the difference between a winning and losing shot can be as little as one-hundredth of a second!

Clubs such as Oregon Fast Draw are popping up all over the country, giving rise to serious competitions and serious fun. The club is comprised of sportsmen and women from throughout Oregon and Washington, who come wearing cowboy and cowgirl outfits, to cock, draw and shoot for prizes and bragging rights.

Amateurs, however, have nothing to fear. Fast-Draw pros will be on hand to teach participants the basics. While the competition among the pros can be stiff, everyone will have a chance to test their skills at the 2012 Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show!
